We As One proudly participated as a partner in the Erasmus+ "Cultural Compass: Navigating Diversity Through Communication" Mobility of Youth Workers project (Project No: 2024-1-ES02-KA153-YOU-000215870), coordinated by KUFF Refugees and Minorities Solidarity Association and implemented in Madrid/Alcobendas, Spain, between 29 October and 5 November 2024. The mobility brought together youth workers from Spain, Turkey, Poland, Latvia, and Romania to strengthen intercultural communication, encourage active participation, and promote inclusive practices through non-formal education. The final phase of the project focused on transforming participants' learning experiences into practical outcomes that could continue creating impact within their organisations and local communities.
One of the programme's key priorities was strengthening the visibility and sustainability of Erasmus+ initiatives through creative dissemination. Participants collaborated to design promotional materials, visual resources, and communication tools that reflected the project's values while celebrating the cultural diversity of the partner countries. Practical workshops encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, demonstrating how innovative educational materials can effectively communicate Erasmus+ opportunities and engage wider audiences.
The mobility also encouraged participants to explore new approaches to intercultural communication through collaborative workshops, creative discussions, and interactive learning activities. Sessions focusing on sport, social media, and idea development highlighted how communication extends beyond language and can be strengthened through cooperation, shared experiences, and digital engagement. Participants exchanged good practices, generated innovative project ideas, expanded shared educational resources, and reinforced their ability to work effectively within multicultural teams while respecting different perspectives and cultural backgrounds.
Reflection and quality improvement remained essential throughout the mobility. Monitoring meetings, brainstorming sessions, and participant feedback provided opportunities to evaluate learning outcomes, review the effectiveness of activities, and identify areas for future development. The programme concluded with comprehensive evaluation sessions, a cultural visit to Madrid and Alcobendas, and the presentation of Youthpass certificates, recognising the knowledge, skills, and competences gained through non-formal learning. These experiences reinforced the importance of lifelong learning, intercultural dialogue, and active European citizenship while encouraging participants to transfer their newly acquired methods and experiences into future youth work initiatives.
As a proud partner of this Erasmus+ project, We As One strengthened its international partnerships and expanded its capacity to promote intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and active participation through youth work. The knowledge, practical methods, and collaborative networks established during the mobility will continue to support the organisation in developing innovative educational activities and creating lasting positive impact for young people and local communities.
