Youth for Peace in Action: Exploring Democracy and Innovation in Lisbon

We As One proudly took part in the 9th and final international event of the Youth for Peace project, representing Latvia among participants from across Europe.

The event took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 24–27 September 2025, hosted by the REDefine Association for Research, Education and Development. Under the theme “Rehearsing Democracy: Civic Tech, EdTech & Youth Power in the Digital Age,” the conference brought together young people to explore how technology, innovation, and collaboration can strengthen democracy and peace in the digital era.

Throughout the program, participants:

Took part in democracy simulations and a youth hackathon,

Joined the panel “Can EdTech Fix Democracy?” to hear from Civic Tech and EdTech innovators,

Experienced the Youth Labs Live, showcasing youth-led digital solutions,

Engaged in the Ágora de Lisboa debate, discussing “Can VR Empower Real Action?”

For We as One, this event was more than just a conference — it was a space for connection, creativity, and collaboration, where young people envisioned a more inclusive, democratic, and peaceful future together.

We remain committed to empowering youth and promoting peace through innovation, dialogue, and active citizenship across borders.
