The first day of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project “Teamwork in Action” (Project No: 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000300857) was successfully completed in Madrid, Spain. Coordinated by KUFF Asociación de Solidaridad con Refugiados y Minorías, the project brings together partner organizations from Spain, Türkiye, Latvia, Romania, and Hungary, with We As One proudly representing Latvia.
The opening day focused on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants could get to know one another and begin building trust. Through ice-breaking activities, team-building exercises, and intercultural introductions, young people shared their backgrounds, experiences, and expectations while laying the foundation for effective international cooperation.
Participants also took part in the "Scenario at Work" activity, where they explored realistic workplace situations through role-playing exercises. By acting out job interviews, teamwork challenges, and professional communication scenarios, they examined how cultural differences can influence collaboration and learned practical ways to respond with empathy, respect, and confidence.
The first day highlighted the importance of communication, active listening, and mutual understanding in multicultural environments. These initial experiences encouraged participants to recognize diversity as a valuable asset and prepared them for the interactive workshops and learning activities planned throughout the week.
As a partner organization, We As One is pleased to contribute to this international learning journey, supporting young people in developing the intercultural competencies and teamwork skills needed for today's increasingly diverse workplaces.
