Building Hope Together: We as One Contributes to an Inspiring Journey for Refugee Youth and Children🏆

As a partner in the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange project "Hopeful Horizons for Refugee Youth and Children" (Project No: 2024-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000199311), We as One proudly joined young participants from Austria, Türkiye, Spain, Latvia, North Macedonia, and Ukraine in Madrid/Alcobendas, Spain, from 5–13 November 2024. Coordinated by KUFF Asociación de Solidaridad con Refugiados y Minorías, the project aimed to foster social inclusion, strengthen intercultural dialogue, and raise awareness of the challenges experienced by refugee children and young people.

Throughout the mobility, participants engaged in a rich programme of non-formal learning activities that combined education with meaningful social action. Team-building exercises, intercultural workshops, creative group activities, and reflection sessions helped participants build trust, improve communication skills, and better understand the importance of cooperation in addressing social challenges⭐

One of the highlights of the project was the direct engagement with refugee children. Participants handcrafted personalized dolls, visited local schools, spent quality time with children through educational games and film activities, and created a welcoming environment where friendship and empathy naturally flourished. These experiences encouraged participants to challenge stereotypes while giving refugee children joyful and memorable moments.

The programme also explored the positive role of technology, storytelling, language diversity, and creativity in supporting children's development and social inclusion. Interactive workshops inspired participants to exchange ideas, discover innovative educational approaches, and recognize the value of cultural diversity in building stronger communities.

Daily evaluation sessions and cultural evenings further enriched the learning experience by encouraging self-reflection, intercultural exchange, and the sharing of traditions from each participating country. Through every activity, participants strengthened their sense of active citizenship, solidarity, and responsibility toward creating more inclusive societies.

By taking part in Hopeful Horizons for Refugee Youth and Children, We as One reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young people through international cooperation and the Erasmus+ Programme. The project demonstrated that empathy, collaboration, and shared experiences can inspire lasting change, helping to create a future where every child feels valued, included, and full of hope⭐
